PADI Rescue Diver Course

Why PADI Rescue Scuba Diver?
Rewarding and fun that best describes the PADI Rescue Scuba Diver course. This course will expand your knowledge and experience level: Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.

What do I need to start?

You can enrol in the Rescue Diver Course as a certified Advanced Open Water Diver .
Minimum age: 15 years old (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Scuba Diver Course)
Successful completion of a sanctioned CPR and First Aid Course within the past 24 months. A First Aid Course is offered to fulfill this requirement. This is AUD$120 and includes all training material and registration. 

What will I do?
Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions, you'll cover:
PADI Rescue Diver course

Self-rescue and diver stress
Emergency oxygen delivery systems
Dive first aid
Swimming and non-swimming rescue techniques
Emergency management and equipment
Panicked diver response
Underwater problems
Missing diver procedures
Surfacing the unconscious diver
In-water rescue breathing protocols
Egress (exits)
First aid procedures for pressure related accidents
Dive accident scenarios

 Dive Master diving course
Take the first step in your diving career and become a PADI Divemaster. Working closely with a Down Under Dive Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. PADI Divemaster training course develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

What can PADI Divemasters do?

Work at local dive centers, on liveaboard dive boats, yachts and at exotic resort locations
Assist PADI Instructors with students
Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours
Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers
Teach PADI Discover Snorkeling programs
Conduct PADI Scuba Review programs for certified divers
Lead certified divers on Discover Local Diving experiences
Teach Emergency First Response programs after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course.

 
What do I need to start?

PADI Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver or qualifying certification from another training organization
PADI Rescue Diver certification or qualifying certification from another training organization.
Medical clearance signed by a physician at Down Under Dive ($44). (For Employment in Australia you need AS2299 medical clearance).

What will I do?

Learn dive leadership through classroom and independent study sessions
Complete water skills and stamina exercises in confined and open water
Training exercises to test organizational and problem solving abilities
An internship or series of practical training exercises

PADI Assistant Instructor Dive Course
The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first portion of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). You'll not only gain additional experience as a PADI Professional but you'll also start learning the PADI System of diver education.

What can PADI Assistant Instructors do?

Teach academic presentations under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor
Evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor
Teach the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course
Teach Project AWARE Specialty courses
Conduct PADI Discover Scuba experiences

What will I need to start?

PADI Divemaster rating or qualifying certification from another certification organization
At least 18 years old
Have 60 logged dives, including night, deep, and navigation dives
Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months


What will I do?

Knowledge development through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations
Confined water skill review and assessment, workshops and presentations
Open water workshops, rescue assessment and candidate presentations

 How long will it take?

The course can vary from as little as three days to more than two weeks

Maximize your time with the upgraded PADI Enriched Air Diving course. Enriched Air Diving saves you time by allowing you to:
Stay underwater longer
Get back into the water sooner
Get your certification while simultaneously completing dives for other PADI courses

Plus, by diving with Enriched Air you may feel less tired on your vacation.
How much more time can I be underwater?
For example, if you dive to15 metres/50 feet on air, your no decompression limit is 80 minutes. But, diving on EANx36 gets you 220 minutes of no decompression time - an increase of 140 minutes! It is perfect for underwater photographers, wreck divers and anyone who wants to stay down longer.

What do I need to start?
All you need is your open water diver certification. (You must be 15 years of age or older).

What will I do?
You will learn preparation and diving procedures involved with enriched air diving.

How soon can I be diving on enriched air?
Just a mini workshop and a couple dives and you will be on your way.

Theory one evening 3-4 hours
Minimum Open Water Training: two dives over one day

Where can I go from here?
You can apply this Specialty course towards your Master Scuba Diver certification. You also need the PADI Enriched Diver certification if you intend to move into technical diving.
